Home Builder's Corner
Rich Gadberry's '50 DeSoto

June 21, 2002
I received some very sad news tonight. Rich Gadberry passed away yesterday from cancer. I e-mailed back and forth several times with Rich and found him to be a great guy and a dedicated rodder. The world will definitely miss him. Rest well Rich, you've earned it. Our sincere condolences to the Gadberry family.

Here's some pics for home builder's corner. You won't see too many of these. I think I might have the only 1950 DeSoto Coupe rod on the planet. It has an actual Mustang II front crossmember with power,  a built 302 Ford, C-4 auto, 1970 Dodge Dart GT posi rear with 3.91 gears, a custom dash panel with dolphin gauges,  a 1972 Olds tilt/tele- column, and centerline wheels with goodyear eagles. The power brakes came from the same Mustang II donor car. All the work on the car is being done by me. Except my wife Donna, is stichin up a nice interior. Don't worry, I have all the parts. This thing should be hittin the road this spring.  My name is Rich Gadberry. I live in Auburn Washington. My day job is being a machine shop foreman. I also do a little body/paint, chassis modification, custom bracketry, and billet work for hot rod money. Hoping to expand that into a full time thing.

Rich just sent in another picture of the DeSoto. Because of illness he's been unable to work much on it but is feeling better now and going back to work. Hope to see a bunch of finished pictures soon Rich!

Rich just sent in these pictures of his FINISHED DeSoto! Looks Great Rich!
Thanks for sharing your buildup with us!
